The LeTourneau University men's tennis team improved its home record to 10-1 on Senior Day with an 8-1 win over Sul Ross State and a 9-0 win over East Texas Baptist on Saturday.
Interview with Josh BaileyThe YellowJackets (12-4, 6-2 ASC) took all three of the doubles matches against Sul Ross State. LeTourneau went on to win five of the six singles matches in straight sets including a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles by
Morgan Weaver.
In the second match of the day, LeTourneau picked up its fifth 9-0 win of the season. Prior to the match, LeTourneau honored senior
Josh Bailey for his contributions to the program.
After sweeping the three doubles matches, LeTourneau took five of the six singles matches in straight sets with Bailey at No. 4 singles being the only one decided in three.
The senior from Kilgore defeated Laramiee Linn, 6-4, 6-7 (4-10), 1-0 (10-5) and teamed up with
Laird Beaty to win at No. 1 doubles in his final home match at the Davis Tennis Courts.
The YellowJackets will travel to Sherman, Texas for its next two matches where they will face Austin College on Saturday, Apr. 12 at 10 a.m. and face the University of the Southwest at 3 p.m.
