The LeTourneau University women's team dropped a 6-3 decision to host Howard Payne University on Friday in Brownwood.
Howard Payne (1-0) won the other two doubles matches and four of six singles matches to pick up the win.
LETU (0-1) started the match with a victory at No. 2 doubles by freshmen
Hayley Hunter and Kristin Ladner. The duo defeated Chesney Goza and Breanna Hunt of Howard Payne, 8-4.

Ladner continued the strong start to her spring with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles over Tiffany Bullock. The other LETU victory came from senior
Megan Rush (pictured)Â at No. 5 singles in an exciting match. Rush outlasted Hunt at No. 4 singles, 2-6, 7-6 (7-3), 11-9.
