LeTourneau Women's Tennis Splits Matches on Senior Day

The LeTourneau University women's tennis team split a pair of matches, losing to Southwestern University – 9-0 and defeating Jacksonville College - 6-3 on Saturday at the Davis Tennis Courts.

The win over Jacksonville is the first win over the spring for LETU. In pre-match festivities against Jacksonville, LeTourneau honored senior Megan Rush for her contributions to the program, both on and off the court.

LETU (1-8) started the afternoon contest with wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles for an early 2-1 lead. The Jaguars picked up wins at No. 1 and 2 singles until LeTourneau rattled off four-straight wins in singles for the victory. One of the more exciting victories on the afternoon came at No. 4 singles when sophomore Amy Miley outlasted Carolina Hernandez in a tiebreaker. The Longview native won the first set, 6-3 and Hernandez sent the match to a tiebreaker with a 6-3 win in the second set. Miley secured the win with a 10-6 win a tiebreaker in the third set.

Next, LeTourneau will return to the rigors of the road when they travel to Seguin on Monday to face Texas Lutheran University at noon.
