The LeTourneau University women's tennis team began the 2016 season with a pair of 9-0 losses to McMurry University and Hardin-Simmons University at the Davis Tennis Courts on Saturday.
 
The YellowJackets (0-2) began the day with the loss to McMurry. In the loss, the tandem of sophomore Rachel Morisseau and freshman Terin Murray (pictured) lost 8-4 to Chloe Patterson and Madison Hathorn at No. 1 doubles. Freshman Lauren Rockwell and Schuyler Wages dropped an 8-2 decision at No. 2 doubles and senior Savannah Wessies and freshman Morgan Weaver suffered an 8-0 setback at No. 3 doubles.

In singles action, McMurry won at No. 1, 4 and 5 singles by a 6-0, 6-0 margin. They were also victorious at No. 2 and 3 singles, 7-5, 6-0 and picked up a win at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-1 to wrap up the match.
 
LeTourneau ended the day with a match against ASC West Division favorite Hardin-Simmons University. Morisseau and Murray lost by an 8-2 margin at No. 1 doubles to Hannah Smith and Jenna Smith. Rockwell and Wages lost at No. 2 doubles, 8-0 to Shayne Cook and Laura Weinheimer.
 
In singles, the Cowgirls won all six matches. Morisseau lost 6-1, 6-3 to Michaela Ellison at No. 1 singles. Murray lost 6-2, 6-4 to Sabra Zullo at No. 2 singles and Megan Carlson defeated Wages at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0.  Freshman Lauren Rockwell was edged at No. 3 singles in a 7-6 (10-6), 6-2 decision at No. 3 singles.
 
The YellowJackets will next welcome back LETU alumni with a match on Friday, Feb. 13 at 11:30 a.m.
