For the third consecutive year, the LeTourneau University women's tennis team has advanced to the upcoming American Southwest Conference Tournament. The YellowJackets enter the conference tournament with an 5-12 overall mark and a 1-3 mark against ASC East Division teams.
The YellowJackets secured a spot in the conference tournament with a 9-0 win over Louisiana College on April 15. As the No. 4 seed in the ASC East Division, they will face Hardin-Simmons, who is the No. 1 seed in the ASC West Division on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at Tyler Junior College. (

Terin Murray has eight singles wins to lead LeTourneau, followed by sophomore
Rachel Morisseau and freshman
Lauren Rockwell, who each have six wins. Morisseau and Murray have teamed up for seven wins in doubles to lead the YellowJackets.
The ASC marks the 20th tennis championships in league history dating back to 1997. Hardin-Simmons leads the tournament with nine league titles, including seven consecutive (2001-07).
The winner of the tournament will earn the ASC automatic qualification to their respective NCAA Division III Tennis Championships. The NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship will be held at the Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Mich. The NCAA team selections will be released May 9 with the individual selections coming May 11. The NCAA team championships will be played May 23-25 with the individual championships scheduled for May 26-28.
