Box Score DALLAS, Texas - Having been rained out in their past three matches and not taking the court in nearly one month, the LeTourneau University men's tennis team would return to action with a 9-0 loss at Dallas Baptist University on Thursday, March 1st.
In doubles action, the duo of
Christian Farris and
Jimmie Henson would drop a close match to Nick Gilmore and Cannon Jones 8-5 at No. 1 doubles while
Robby Bundy and
Zac Crowley-Kurth could not out duel Riley Smith and Nathan Torres in a 8-5 No. 2 doubles loss. The No. 3 doubles match would feature sophomores
Nash Best and
Dale Wallace, who would fall by a score of 8-0 to Gabe Garrido and Josh Williams.
Falling behind 3-0 after the doubles matches would take its toll heading into the singles matches, as Farris would go down at No. 1 singles to Jones by scores of 6-1 6-2 while Henson would drop a 6-2, 6-4 match to Gilmore. Bundy faced Torres at No. 3 singles, falling by scores of 6-0, 6-3 with Crowley-Kurth losing to Smith 6-3, 6-3.
Collin Patterson would see his only action of the day at No. 5 singles, falling by a score of 6-1, 6-2 to Garrido while
Cameron Wall made his first appearance of the year in a 6-0, 6-0 loss to Williams.
LETU will search for its first win of the season on Saturday, March 3rd, with two opportunities to get into the win column at the Davis Tennis Courts in Longview. The YellowJackets will take on Howard Payne University at 9 a.m. before facing off against the Kangaroos of Austin College at 3 p.m.
