LONGVIEW, Texas - The LeTourneau University women's tennis team will open up the 2018 American Southwest Conference Women's Tennis Tournament as the number three seed out of the east division and take on number two seed from the west division Hardin-Simmons University on Thursday, April 26th at 2 p.m. at the Summers Tennis Center in Tyler, Texas. 

LETU enters the tournament with an 8-9 overall record and faces the Cowgirls for the first time this year, who will enter with a record of 4-15 overall. The YellowJackets will enter the first round of the tournament having won two of their past three matches while HSU has won three of their past four matches after going 2-1 last weekend in ASC play to clinch the number two seed in the east. 

LeTourneau's match will be quarterfinal number three on Thursday, taking place after Ozarks and Texas-Dallas play a match at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday morning. The first quarterfinal of the day will feature Howard Payne University and East Texas Baptist at 9 a.m. while host Texas-Tyler will take on Concordia University Texas at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday to close out day one of action. 

Winners of the first two matches will square off in the first semifinal on Friday morning which cannot take place before 10:30 a.m. on Friday while the winner of the LETU/HSU match will face the winner of the UT-Tyler/Concordia match at a time that is to be determined (not before 2 p.m.). The ASC Championship match will take place on Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
