RESULTS 

ABILENE, Texas -- LeTourneau University women's tennis player Amber Van Duyn advanced to the semifinals of the singles D bracket at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southwest Regionals Friday.

Van Duyn, a freshman from Corpus Christi, Texas, beat Macie Dehnisch, of Mary Hardin-Baylor, 6-2, 6-3, in the Round of 16. She defeated Concordia Texas' Anitza Alanis, 5-7, 7-5, 10-7, in the quarterfinals. She will play Concordia's Veronica Gutierrez in Saturday's semifinals.

Maddison Brackenreg beat UHMB's Vicky Rendon, 6-3, 6-2, in the first round of the A bracket. She lost to Southwestern's Alli Ziehm, 7-5, 6-1, in the Round of 16. Summer Apostalo fell to Austin College's Garielle Francis, 6-0, 6-2, in the first round. Apostalo lost to Hardin-Simmons' Maddie Hammond, 6-0, 6-0, in the consolation round. 

In the B draw, Samantha Trevino outlasted McMurry's Hope Turner, 2-6, 7-5, 10-2, in the first round. She lost to Austin College's Joanna Leitch, 6-4, 7-5, in the Round of 16.

In the C bracket, Mimi Samdi beat Texas Lutheran's Jade Sosa, 6-0, 6-2, in the Round of 16. She lost to Hendrix College's Greer Ayers, 6-1, 6-2, in the quarterfinals. Sierra Giesen Linssen lost to Schreiner's Victoria Morales, 6-2, 6-1, in the Round of 16. Giesen Linssen lost to Hendrix's Karen Morris, 4-6, 6-0, 10-4, in an exciting match. Savannah Orton dropped her opening round match to McMurry's Tristyn Fambrough, 6-1, 6-2. Orton fell in the consolation round to UHMB's Laurel Turco, 6-4, 5-7, 10-6. Sophie Hill lost her first match to Schreiner's Tracy Truong, 6-0, 6-1. Hill fell in the consolation round to Texas Lutheran's Kaitlyn Enloe, 6-4, 6-0.

Hannah Moore lost to Emily Nuttall, of McMurry, 6-1, 6-3, in the opening round of the D bracket. In the consolation round, Moore fell to East Texas Baptist's Ryleigh Moore, 7-5, 6-3. 

In pairs play, Brackenreg and Apostalo defeated Concordia's Isabella Wiik and Cassandra Landeros-Cabrera, 9-8 (7-4), in the opening round of the A bracket. The YellowJackets duo lost to McMurry's Claire Huffine and Turner, 9-7, in a great battle in the Round of 16. Orton and Trevino lost to Trinity's second-seeded Mary Kaffen and Zoe Kaffen, 8-0, in the opening round.  

In the doubles B bracket, Giesen Linssen and Van Duyn fell to East Texas Baptist's Kelsey Roberts and Kylee Mixon, 8-4, in the first round. Hill and Samdi fell to Schreiner's Iris Montero and Morales, 8-1, in the opening round.
