James Wallace, the LeTourneau men's basketball team has its sights on a great start as it opens its 2021-22 campaign hosting the first annual LETU Classic. The Classic is broken up into back-to-back days, beginning Friday with Millsaps versus Schreiner at 5 p.m., followed by LETU versus Texas Lutheran at 7 p.m. in Solheim Arena.

Deonte Jackson and senior guard
Andrew Eberhardt. Jackson, the American Southwest Conference's East Division Co-Freshman of the Year and a First Team All-ASC East selection last season, led LETU in points a season ago. Eberhardt was second on the squad in points and first in steals, earning Second Team All-ASC East. LeTourneau's defensive charge begins with senior forward
Kyle Matthews, an East All-Defensive player last season who led the team in rebounds. Jackson, Eberhardt, and Matthews are all ASC Players to Watch this season.
About Texas Lutheran
The Bulldogs enter the weekend 1-1, coming off a 99-80 victory over McMurry. Texas Lutheran's scoring attack is led by sophomore guard Xavier Phillips, who leads the team in points per game with 29. Senior guard Jamir Mason also helps to the scoring balance for the Bulldogs, tallying 19 points per game with an 85% shooting percentage. On the defensive side, Mason leads TLU in rebounds with 18 boards in two games. Mason, Isaac Orozco, and Phillips lead the team in the steals column with two steals per game apiece.
About Schreiner
Schreiner filters into the weekend after falling in its last contest, 77-68, against the University of Texas at Dallas. Senior guard Alex Dehoyos and forward Kamden Ross lead the Mountaineer's offense, averaging 14.7 points per game apiece. Mateus Reichert Blume guides the offense for Schreiner, leading the team with 15 assists on the season. On the glass, Darian Gibson and Ross lead the team in rebounds, each tallying 22.
