MBB opens ASC play at home Thursday

YellowJackets hosts Sul Ross State

LONGVIEW, Texas – After a perfect 4-0 mark in November, LETU opens league play at home Thursday against Sul Ross State.

The YellowJackets, which are receiving votes in the first regular season d3hoops.com top 25 and the Lobos (4-2, 2-0 ASC) tip-off approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the women's game, which gets underway at 5:30 p.m.

• Head coach James Wallace is 4-0 in his first season at the helm after seven seasons as an assistant with the YellowJackets.
• LETU is undefeated in four games this season, while Sul Ross State enters at 4-2, including 2-0 in ASC Play.
• The YellowJackets opened the season with victories over Texas Lutheran and Schreiner in the 2021 LETU Classic.
• LETU won its second tournament in as many weeks, claiming the Pioneer Pre-Thanksgiving Classic with wins over Bethany Lutheran and Crown in Wisconsin.
• The YellowJackets 20-point triumph over Crown is the largest in four games.
• LETU tallied 50 points in four of the eight halves this season.
Christian Adams made LETU's first basket of the season, a jumper 81 seconds into the game.
• Adams earned his first career start after transferring from East Texas Baptist.
Andrew Eberhardt finished with 30 points against crown and totaling 68 to earn All-Pioneer Pre-Thanksgiving Classic Most Valuable Player.
    •   This is his second-consecutive game with 30 or more points and third of his career.
    •  It's his was eighth career game with 20-plus points and 31st double-digit performance.
Warren Richardson registered his second career double-double with 22 points, 10 rebounds against Crown.
    •  He joined Eberhardt on the All-Pioneer Pre-Thanksgiving Classic Team.
   •   This is his second 20-point game in succession, and third career, all coming this season.
Deonte Jackson chipped in with 15 points, nailing all three of his three-point attempts agaist Crown.
    •  He's finished 10-plus points in all four contests this season.
Jordan Pride grabbed seven boards against Bethany Lutheran before repeating the feat against Crown, setting and matching the most in his career.
Kyce Wilson tallied eight points, three rebounds, three assists, one steal and a solo block against Crown.
• Adams, Eberhardt, Deonte Jackson, Richardson and Kyle Matthews each started for the fourth time this season.
