ABILENE, Texas – LeTourneau University's women's tennis team lost to McMurry University, 9-0, Friday.

Sierra Giesen Linssen and Julia Miller fell to Claire Hillyer and Hope Turner, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles. Savannah Orton and Brandy Weems lost to Jasmin Klassen and Hannah DeFriend, 8-4, at No. 2 doubles. At the No. 3 position, Mimi Samdi and Amber Van Duyn were defeated by Gabrielle Ellwanger and Morgan Parnell, 8-1.

LETU trailed 3-0 overall in the match, moving into singles.

At No. 1 singles, Giesen Linssen was defeated by Hillyer, 6-1, 6-0. Weems fell to Ellwanger, 6-0, 6-1, at the No. 2 position. Miller battled at No. 3 singles, losing to Klassen, 6-4, 6-0. At the No. 4 spot, Orton fell to DeFriend, 6-0, 6-0. Samdi was defeated by Turner, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 5. Van Duyn fell to Bridgette Fly, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 6.

The YellowJackets fell to 1-1 on the season.

LeTourneau will compete again at Mary Hardin-Baylor 12:30 p.m. Saturday to finish their three match trip.
