Box Score LONGVIEW – LeTourneau University women's tennis team lost to Concordia University Texas, 9-0, Friday.
Bailey Deatherage and Summer Apostalo fell to Isabella Wiik and Natalia Goodman, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles. Sierra Giesen Linssen and Julia Miller lost to Claire Austin and Kaitlin Stevens, 8-4, at No. 2 doubles. At the No. 3 position, Brandy Weems and Amber Van Duyn were defeated by Alejandra Rueda and Emily Hines, 8-2.
The YellowJackets trailed 3-0 overall in the match, moving into singles.
At No. 1 singles, Deatherage fought tough, but was defeated by Wiik, 7-6 (9-7), 6-3. Giesen-Linssen fell to Austin, 6-1, 6-2, at the No. 2 position. Apostalo lost to Goodman at the No. 3 slot, 6-3, 6-1. At No. 4 singles, Weems fell to Rueda, 6-2, 6-3. Miller was defeated by Stevens, 8-2, at No. 5. Mimi Samdi fell to Hines, 8-0, at No. 6 to wrap up singles play.
LETU drops to 1-3 on the season.
The Jackets will be back in action Saturday at Davis Tennis Courts, beginning with a 9 a.m. match against Schreiner University and 2 p.m. encounter with Hardin-Simmons University.
