LONGVIEW – LeTourneau University men's tennis team defeated Schreiner University, 7-2, Saturday.

Julian Lee and Patrick Baney beat Carson Kirk and Dennis Miller, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles. Rodrigo Vasquez Chairez and Nathan Schmidt defeated Luis Cabreja and Mario Gallinar, 8-2, at No. 2. Miles Grubbs and Jonah McGinty beat Quinten Robertson and Austin Cervantes, 8-5, at No. 3. 

Lee defeated Cabreja in the first set, 7-6 (9-7), but fell in the second set, 6-2, before winning the third set, 10-6, at No. 1 singles. Vasquez Chairez beat Kirk, 7-5, 6-4, in the second position. At No. 3 singles, Baney defeated Miller, 6-4, 6-2. Schmidt dominated in the fourth slot, winning against Cervantes, 6-2, 6-0. At No. 5, Jeffrey Golladay lost to Max Schechter, 6-3, 6-3. Gavin Meyer fell to Jack Johns, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4, at the No. 6 spot.

The YellowJackets improved to 3-2 on the year, entering Saturday's second match against Hardin-Simmons.
