LONGVIEW – LeTourneau University's tennis teams will host the University of Texas at Dallas on Senior Day 2 p.m. Saturday.
The YellowJackets will honor seniors
Mimi Samdi and
Rodrigo Vazquez in the final regular season match.
LETU's men's team (11-3, 4-0) and UTD men's team (6-8, 3-0) will decide the ASC East Division title. The winner will host the ASC Championship Tournament April 29-May 1.
LeTourneau's women's team (5-9, 3-1 American Southwest Conference) is in third place in the league's East Division. UT Dallas' women's team (7-3, 3-0) sits atop the East. The league postseason tournament is May 6-8 at Hardin-Simmons.
Bailey Deatherage and
Brandy Weems each have five singles victories for the Jackets' women's team. Deatherage and
Summer Apostalo have five doubles wins.
Amber Van Duyn and Weems have five pairs victories.
Julia Miller and
Sierra Linssen also have five doubles wins.
Vazquez,
Patrick Baney and
Nathan Schmidt are all 9-3 in singles play for the Jackets' men's team.
Julian Lee is 7-4, and is ranked 11
th in the West Region. Lee and Baney are 10-1 in pairs play, and own the No. 4 West Region doubles ranking. Grubbs and
Jonah McGinty are 10-3. Schmidt and Vazquez are 9-3.
