Wilson Sets Two Program Records at Shocker Multi

WICHITA, Kan. -- LeTourneau women's track and field freshman Victoria Wilson set two program records as she placed eighth overall in the pentathlon at the Shocker Multi on Friday at Wichita State.

Wilson notched a program-record 2,769 total points across the five events and finished eighth in a field filled with athletes from Division I Wichita State along with Division II and NAIA competitors.

"Tori had a solid start to her college career and handled herself well in a competitive field," said head coach Kathleen Raske. "She has a great future!"

Wilson opened the event by setting the program record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.93 as she collected 725 points. The mark bested the previous program record, set by Kaitlyn Reed in 2020, by .04 seconds.

She had her best finish in an event of the day in the high jump. Wilson cleared the bar at 1.43 meters (4' 8.25") on her first attempt at the height and finished sixth to garner 544 points. In the shot put, Wilson's long mark came on her final throw at 8.55 meters (28' 0.75"). In the final field event, Wilson had a mark of 4.79 meters (15' 8.75") in the long jump for 503 points.

Needing just over 200 points to break the program record in the pentathlon, Wilson tallied 562 in the 800-meter run as she finished in a time of 2:40.91.

Wilson's pentathlon record bested Reed's mark of 2,492 at the UCO Alumni Classic in 2020.
