LONGVIEW, Texas -- LeTourneau women's track and field/cross country student-athletes
Victoria Wilson,
Nat Ferdi,
Makenzie Covey,
Madelyn DeLosSantos, and
Alayna Galloway were all named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® team, announced the organization on Tuesday.
CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in their sport and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes track and cross country honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Wilson, a junior from McKinney, Texas, earns her second straight CSC Academic All-District honor. She competed in 11 meets on the season and set multiple program and personal records. Wilson was seventh in the West region in the heptathlon at the Franson Last Chance meet with 4,338 points while also setting program records in the 100-meter hurdles and the high jump.
Majoring in kinesiology, Wilson earned SCAC Academic Honor Roll this season and was a two-time ASC Academic All-Conference selection. She also earned USTFCCCA All-Academic as a freshman.
Ferdi, a sophomore from Newport Beach, Calif., earns her first career CSC Academic All-District honor. The sophomore became the first YellowJacket to earn All-SCAC honors this season as she finished second in the javelin at the conference meet.
Majoring in civil engineering, Ferdi earned SCAC Academic Honor Roll this year and was ASC Academic All-Conference last season.
Covey, a sophomore from Axtell, Texas, collects her first career CSC Academic All-District nod. A two-sport standout in basketball and track, Covey was seventh at the SCAC Championships in the discus event. She competed in three outdoor meets after helping the YellowJacket basketball team to the semifinals of the ASC Tournament where she earned All-Tournament honors.
Majoring in kinesiology, Covey was named to the SCAC Academic Honor Roll this year and earned ASC Academic All-Conference as a freshman.
DeLosSantos, a junior from Pasadena, Texas, garners her first career CSC Academic All-District selection. She competed in 11 total track meets on the year, setting personal records throughout the year. DeLosSantos also ran in four cross country meets and was 19th at the ASC Championships.
Majoring in kinesiology, DeLosSantos earned SCAC Academic Honor Roll this year and will be a three-time ASC Academic All-Conference selection.
Galloway, a junior from Montgomery, Texas, collects her first career CSC Academic All-District honor. She also competed in 11 track meets on the year after a full cross country season. Galloway was named to the SCAC All-Sportsmanship team and set multiple personal records during the track season.
Majoring in mechanical engineering, Galloway earned SCAC Academic Honor Roll and will be a three-time member of the ASC Academic All-Conference team.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-America® program students must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA, finish in the top 50 regionally in a track event or at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, and be at least a sophomore academically.
