LETU swept the Kangaroos in doubles play, making it the second week in a row that the YellowJackets have went 3-0 in doubles action.
Rodrigo Vazquez and
Patrick Baney were the first to get into the winning column, defeating Trey Salyer and Tate Nelson, 8-2, at Flight one.
Nathan Schmidt and
Ryan Holloway followed up with a victory of their own at the No. 2 slot, dismantling AC's Luke Henley and William Dixon, 8-0.
Miles Grubbs and
Alex Barrero capped off the sweep, defeating AJ Wueste and Storm Simonin, 8-1.
In singles play, Vazquez competed at the No. 1 spot, taking down Henley, 6-2, 6-1. At No. 2, Holloway downed Salyer, 6-1, 6-2. Baney fell in the first set to Nelson at the No. 3 position, 6-4, but dominated in the second set, 6-1, to even the set. Baney ultimately fell in the hard fought decisive set, 14-12. Schmidt beat Dixon at No. 4, 6-0, 6-2, while
Andres Urretia took down Simonin, 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 5 spot. Barrero cruised by Yudai Abe, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 6 singles.
The Jackets next time taking the court will be Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. as it heads to Hardin-Simmons.
