Box Score HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The LETU women's tennis team fell to Nichols Tuesday, 6-3, in the second day of the PTR Spring Fest.
Madison Morris and
Bailey Deatherage won at the top flight doubles spot, 8-5, taking down Kelley Carlin and Isabella Winter. The Bisons of Nichols took the final two slots of doubles to take a 2-1 lead heading into singles action.
Brandy Weems and
Emma Boulanger fell to Antonia Carrero and Johanna Schroeder, 8-2, in line two. At No. 3, Jordan Knowles and Kara Stankewitz defeated
Clara Brisman and
Sophie Hill, 8-2.
The YellowJackets' Morris and Weems tallied the lone two points in singles play at the No. 2 and 3 positions, respectively. Morris beat Stankewitz, 6-2, 6-2. Weems was triumphant over Winter, taking a hard fought tiebreaker set, 10-8. Boulanger had a tough battle at the fourth position versus Schroeder, losing in the decisive set, 11-9. The Bisons added three singles victories at No. 1, 5, and 6 to take the match win.
LETU finalizes the PTR Spring Fest Wednesday with two matches versus Newberry and Ithaca at 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., respectively.
