YellowJackets Fall on Road in Pair

Clara Brisman battles at No. 6 singles.
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 GEORGETOWN, Texas – LETU women's Tennis fell in a pair contests on the road at Southwestern Friday. The Yellowjackets fell to Concordia 6-3 in match one, before losing to No. 10 Southwestern 9-0 in match two.

CTX's Claire Austin and Trinity Klamecki beat Emma Boulanger and Clara Brisman, 8-1 at No. 3 doubles to secure the first point. Kayla Pena and Natalia Goodman downed Bailey Deatherage and Brandy Weems, 8-4 at No. 2 doubles. The YellowJackets closed the gap a little after Madison Morris and Megan Leblanc outlasted Isabella Wiik and Kaitlin Stevens, 8-7 (7-3) at the top flight doubles.

LETU trailed 2-1 moving into singles play.

Deatherage fell to Wiik at No. 1 singles, 7-6 (8-4), 6-2. Concordia's Pena downed Morris at No. 2, 6-3, 6-1. Leblanc tallied the first point in singles play for the YellowJackets, cruising past Austin, 6-2, 6-0. Weems dropped two sets to Goodman at line four, 6-1, 6-0. Boulanger downed CTX's Stevens in the first set at the No. 5 position, 6-4, before falling in the second set, 6-4, ultimately claiming a point for LETU in the third set, 10-7. At No. 6 Brisman lost to Klamecki, 6-0, 6-1.

In match two, No. 10 Southwestern took an early 3-0 lead after doubles action.

Morris and Leblanc fought hard at No. 1 doubles, falling to Southwestern's Nina Mitrofanova and Lydia Lee, 8-6. Deatherage and Weem lost at the second slot to Lauren Chisholm and Taylor Despriet, 8-1. The Pirates' Emma Kesterson and Sara Le beat Boulanger and Brisman, 8-0 to round out doubles play.

In singles action, Mitrofanova downed Deatherage, 6-0, 6-2, in the No. 1 spot. Morris fell to Despriet at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Leblanc dropped a point at line three to Lee, 6-3, 6-3. Weems lost to Chisholm at No. 4, 6-0, 6-0. In the fourth position, Boulanger was beaten by Southwestern's Chandler Vrba, 6-0, 6-2. Brisman lost at the No. 6 slot to Meeshti Shethia, 6-0, 6-0.

LeTourneau hits the court again Saturday at 12 p.m. as it takes on Schreiner in Kerrville, Texas.
