RICHARDSON, Texas –
Julian Lee,
Patrick Baney, and
Ellie Marsh earned American Southwest Conference Players of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Lee is honored with his second consecutive ASC weekly award, third of the season, and the fifth of his career. Baney notches his second award of the season and the fourth of his career, while Marsh collects her first of her career.
Lee and Baney participated in the Ojai Tennis Tournament this past weekend, winning the championship in the doubles draw. The YellowJacket duo took down the University of Redland's Stefan Hester and Jack Mattox, 7-5, in a tiebreaker set to claim the title.
The pair now boasts a 16-2 overall record and have won nine matches in a row.
Marsh participated in the J. Fred Duckett Twilight hosted by Rice this past weekend, competing in the 100 hurdles and the 400 hurdles. The Richland, Washington native notched times close to her personal best, competing against NCAA Division I and II competition.
Marsh and the LETU track and field team compete at the Texas A&M Alumni Muster Saturday in College Station. Baney, Lee, and company face off against Mary Hardin-Baylor Thursday, May 5 at 2 p.m. in the first round of the ASC Championship at Concordia.
