LONGVIEW, Texas -- A late season surge clinched a spot in the SCAC Tournament for the LeTourneau men's tennis team, now the No. 6 seeded YellowJackets are set to face No. 3 seed Concordia Texas in a quarterfinal on Friday at 12 p.m. in Kerrville.
The winner of the match moves on to face No. 2 seeded Hendrix on Saturday at 12 p.m.

TOURNAMENT NOTES:
- LeTourneau (8-8, 5-5 SCAC) clinched a spot in the SCAC Tournament with key wins over McMurry and Schreiner in the final weekend of the regular season.
- It will be LeTourneau's first appearance in the SCAC Tournament, but the 12th time the YellowJackets have been in a conference tournament. LeTourneau has made it to one championship match in program history (2009) and have made at least the semifinal round six times.
- The YellowJackets will face Concordia Texas for a second time this season. The teams met in Longview on March 28, with the Tornados taking a 5-2 victory in a match that was very tight up and down the lineup.
- LeTourneau has been strong on the doubles side all season. The No. 1 duo of Andrew Reiman and Fernando Vazquez was twice the SCAC Doubles Team of the Week, while the No. 2 tandem of Zach Farris and Timothy Black earned one SCAC Doubles Team of the Week. Reiman and Vazquez are 11-4 on the year and Black and Farris are 13-3 together -- the second-most wins by a doubles team in the SCAC this season.
- Farris holds a 10-5 record in singles dual matches, including nine wins at the No. 1 flight.  He has 12 wins total on the year.
- Reiman earned a SCAC Player of the Week award this season and leads the team with an 11-5 record in dual matches, while going 7-3 against SCAC foes.Â
- Diego Maldonado (eight wins), Vazquez (seven wins), Hayden Harry (seven wins), and Black (three wins) have all contributed in singles play throughout the year.
