BELTON, Texas -- All eight LeTourneau women's tennis players recorded at least one victory as the YellowJackets opened the fall season over the weekend at the Crusader Invitational in Belton.
LeTourneau totaled eight wins in singles play and had six in doubles.
Maddie Nichol opened her collegiate career with a bracket title. Nichol won the H Draw as she knocked off Dallas' Sanskriti Baranwal 6-4, 6-0 in the semifinals before taking a 6-2, 6-1 win over Texas Lutheran's Serenity Cavera in the championship.
Emma Boulanger,
Isa Casso,
Elizabeth Moreau,
Emmy Phillips,
Yaddi Ramirez, and
Grace Rogers all had one win in singles play.
Moreau got into the semifinal round of her draw following a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Howard Payne's Mikayla Hernandez. Boulanger also advanced to round two in her draw with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Dallas' Sofia Cantu.
Casso and Rogers combined for a 2-1 record in doubles. The duo won both of their matches on the consolation side with an 8-3 victory over McMurry's Jenna Vincent and Karitza Bencomo before an 8-7(3) win over Howard Payne's Victoria Ramos and Hannah Lightner.
Phillips and Ramirez also collected a pair of wins together. They defeated McMurry's Emilee Dominguez and Lina Falcon, 8-1, in the first round before taking an 8-6 win in the consolation bracket over Dallas' Cantu and Ariana Menchaca.
The doubles teams of Nichol and
Chloe Tesser along with Boulanger and Moreau tallied one win apiece.Â
