DALLAS -- For a third time this season LeTourneau men's basketball senior
Deonte Jackson was named the ASC Player of the Week, announced the league on Monday.
Jackson also earned the honor on Nov. 18 and Nov. 25. It is the fifth time he's garnered the award in his career.
A fifth-year senior from Nacogdoches, Texas, Jackson led LeTourneau to a 3-1 record over the last few weeks by averaging 25.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 3.0 steals per game. Jackson eclipsed 2,000 career points during the stretch. He had 34 points with three steals in a win over George Fox and then had 23 points with five rebounds and three steals in a win over Pacific Lutheran. In a loss to No. 9-ranked Illinois Wesleyan, Jackson poured in 27 points with five steals. He then had 19 points, four rebounds, and four assists in a win over Concordia-Moorhead.
Jackson eclipsed 2,000 career points in the win over Concordia-Moorhead and his 2,009 total points is currently tied for third all-time in program history.
On the year, Jackson is leading the ASC averaging 24.2 points per game and is ninth in Division III, while leading the nation in total points (339). He also tallies 3.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.4 steals per game and ranks third in the ASC in both steals and steals per game.
LeTourneau (11-3) returns to action on Tuesday at Centenary (7 p.m.).
