Victoria Wilson,
Heather Shaw,
Peyton Chaney and
Nat Ferdi set new personal bests as women's outdoor track and field battled some tough elements to earn a successful day at the Bill Schmidt Classic in Denton on the campus of the University of North Texas.
Wilson's new personal best came in the high jump, as she hit 1.50m (4' 11), inching ever closer to the program record. Shaw's came in the 100m, as she ran a speedy 13.46.
The final two personal bests were Chaney setting a new best in the 1500m (5:49.71) and Ferdi continuing to improve on her throwing marks with a 9.46m (31' 0.5) in the shot put.
The YellowJackets set a new season best in the 4x400 relay (4:25.94), thanks to the tandem of Shaw,
Alayna Galloway,
Madelyn DeLosSantos, and
Felice Mullinax. Mullinax (2:29.33), Galloway (2:32.75), and DeLosSantos (2:38.37) placed in the top 15 of the 800m as well.
Maddy Hirneise got her sprinting off to a good start, setting an initial season benchmark in the 100m by running a 13.71.
Hope Greenwald placed in the top 25 of both the 800m (2:41.90) and the 1500m (5:26.55), while Annabelle Nixton added a time of 6:00.21 in the 1500m.
Wilson earned another top-15 placement in the 100m hurdles, running a 16.26, while Ferdi hit 25.09m (82' 4) in the hammer throw and 26.82m (88') in the javelin throw.
Kooper Bogenschutz, Shaw, Hirneise, and Wilson competed for LeTourneau in the 4x100 relay, landing seventh with a time of 52.70.

The YellowJackets will go to Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas for the Carl Kight Invitational this upcoming Thursday-Saturday (Apr. 10-12).
