HOUSTON, Texas -- LeTourneau men's cross country landed fifth at the Rice Invitational on Friday evening, with the 5,200 meter race being the first for each of the runners.
Grayson Gaddis led the YellowJackets with his time of 17:00.4, good enough for 26th overall. Right behind him was
Elijah Oudyn, who placed 27th with 17:04.4.Â
David Dugan (17:19.4) and
Simon Nakamura (17:21.9) established their season benchmarks in the second wave of LeTourneau runners, while
Alexander Hoksbergen (17:53.6) rounded out the YellowJackets in the top 40.
Completing the top seven finishers for LeTourneau at the meet were
Ryan Tally (18:09.0) and
Zach Farris (18:11.8), with
Ike Lehman (18.12.0) not too far behind.
Freshman
Xavier Davila (18:21.1) and
Austin Jett (18:27.4) headed up the next group, with freshman
Gavin Smith (18:45.5) setting a new benchmark and
Aidan Hynes (18:47.9) running with him the whole way.
John Wesley Ely (18:57.8),
Konrad Williamson (19:04.5), and
Daniel Risberg (20:37.7) were the final three finishers for the YellowJackets.
Rice was the team champion with four of the top five finishers representing the Owls. Gus Gannon of Rice took home the individual title with a 15:36.1.
