LAKE CHARLES, La. -- Eleven personal bests were recorded as LeTourneau men's track and field competed at the McNeese Indoor II on Friday.
Calvin Mason found himself atop his events once again, winning the weight throw with a mark of 15.83 meters (51' 11.25") out of 17 competitors. Mason also finished second of 19 in the shot put, throwing 14.64 meters (48' 0.5").
Xavier Davila earned a seventh-place finish amongst 21 runners in the 800-meter with a personal-best mark of 2:03.22.
Mason Thompson collected a pair of personal bests in his throws, tossing a 12.9 meter (42'4") mark in the weight throw -- finishing seventh in the event -- and a 9.09 meter (29' 10") mark in the shot put.
Colton Fears (third) and Benjamin Sweatt (fifth) worked for top-five finishes in their respective events. Fears hit 4.10 meters (13' 5.25") in the pole vault, while Sweatt jumped 13.26 meters (43'6") in the triple jump.
Three YellowJackets reached personal-best times in the 600-meter race in
Jean-Michel Ndiaye (1:29.2),
Justin Lindberg (1:32.82), and
Nick Ercole (1:31.05). Ercole also notched a personal best in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.21.
LeTourneau had a day in the 3000-meter as well, with
David Dugan finishing fifth of 29 competitors with a time of 9:04.72.
Elijah Oudyn (sixth) and
Grayson Gaddis (eighth) collected personal-bests and top-eight finishes, with Oudyn running a 9:07.20 and Gaddis marking a 9:10.23.
Simon Nakamura (9:32.29) and
Daniel Risberg (9:54.75) also had career days in the event.
LeTourneau's 4x400-meter team of Ndiaye, Ercole, Davila, and Lindberg garnered a seventh-place finish amongst 15 teams with a time of 3:35.72.
