SUWANEE, Ga. -- Following a shutout performance in the regular season finale, LeTourneau men's soccer senior goalkeeper Edson Camara Martinez was named the SCAC Defensive Player of the Week, announced the league on Monday.

Camara Martinez earns his first career SCAC weekly honor and the third overall. He joins Kristian Princ (twice) as YellowJackets to garner conference defensive player of the week honors this season.

A senior from Houston, Texas, Camara Martinez earned a shutout and made five saves in a 5-0 win for LeTourneau over Austin College on Friday. The clean sheet was his fifth of the season -- and the 11th of his career -- as LeTourneau clinched the No. 3 seed in this week's SCAC Tournament. All five of Camara Martinez's shutouts this season have come against SCAC foes.

On the year, Camara Martinez leads the team and ranks second in the SCAC with a .851 save percentage and tied for third with five shutouts. His 0.71 goals against average in conference play ranks third among qualified keepers.

LeTourneau (10-6-1, 6-2-1 SCAC) earned the No. 3 seed and will face No. 6 seed Dallas in the quarterfinal round of the SCAC Tournament on Thursday (8 p.m.) in Round Rock, Texas.
