SUWANEE, Ga. -- LeTourneau women's tennis sophomore Emmy Phillips was named the SCAC Player of the Week, for the period ending on Feb. 22, announced the conference on Monday.

Phillips is the first YellowJacket to collect conference weekly honors this season. It is her first career weekly honor.

A sophomore from Prosper, Texas, secured a three-set victory over Howard Payne's Kendra Welein at the No. 4 spot in LeTourneau's season-opening loss on Saturday. Phillips rebounded from a set one loss to win 3-6, 6-4, 10-7.

LeTourneau (0-1) returns to action on Friday in the SCAC opener at Austin College (5:30 p.m.).
