TOURNAMENT NOTES
- LeTourneau (17-8, 12-4 SCAC) clinched the Blue Division title with its Senior Day 102-62 victory over Hendrix on Feb 14. The YellowJackets had won 10 of their last 11 games down the stretch before dropping the final two regular-season contests on the road.
- Jackson Mayes leads the YellowJackets with 20 points per game, ranking second in the SCAC in the category. Mayes eclipsed 1,000 career points in a win over Austin earlier this season.
- Teigan Edwards has stepped up in his senior year, providing career highs in points per game (14.5), rebounds per game (4.6), and assists per game (4.4). That assist mark ranks third in the SCAC, and leads the conference in 3-point field goal percentage (44.8). The senior collected SCAC Defensive Player of the Week honors earlier this season.
- The YellowJackets rank second in the SCAC in scoring at 87.5 points per game, a mark that ranks top-20 nationally. LeTourneau also ranks ninth in the country at the charity stripe, shooting at a 77.9 percent clip.
- LeTourneau leads the SCAC in both 3-pointers made (275) and 3-point percentage (37.4)
- Despite being new to the conference, head coach James Wallace is no stranger to the postseason. Wallace has led his team to the conference tournament all five years he has been at the helm. This is the 11th straight trip to the postseason for LeTourneau, and 14th overall.
- The Jackets are seeking their fourth trip to a conference tournament championship game, with the lone championship win coming in 2020.
- LeTourneau swept the season series against the Roos, winning 72-53 in Sherman on Jan. 17, before securing the sweep with an 82-69 victory in Solheim Arena.
- The Jackets lost a heartbreaker to the Tornados, falling 105-102 on Feb. 3 in the lone match-up between the teams. Mayes (40 points) and Edwards (30 points) had career nights in the scoring column in the defeat.
- The winner of LeTourneau's semifinal will advance to the SCAC Championship game, to be played on Sunday, March 1, at 12:00 p.m.
