WHITE OAK, Texas -- LeTourneau men's track and field competed at the LeTourneau Invitational on Friday afternoon, held at White Oak High School.
Calvin Mason topped his shot put program record, winning the event with a mark of 16.21 meters (53' 2.25").
Mason placed second in the discus throw, throwing 42.62 meters (139' 10").
Karter Brandenburger placed third in the event with a mark of 33.42 meters (109' 07").
Mason Thompson took second in the shot put with a personal best mark of 11.13 meters (36' 6.25").
Andrew Cockrill won the pole vault, reaching a personal best mark of 4.25 meters (13' 11.25"). The YellowJackets also found a first-place finish in
Bryson Culver's high jump of 1.83 meters (6').
LeTourneau had three personal best marks come in the long jump from
James Kearsing (6.67 meters (21' 10.75")), Culver (5.91 meters (19' 4.75)), and
Ryker Gorrell (5.60 meters (18' 4.5")).
Grayson Gaddis won the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:18.93, followed by Xavier Davilla (1:59.69) winning the 800-meter dash.
In the 400-meter dash,
Nick Ercole took second place (51.99), and
Justin Lindberg set a new personal best time of 53.45.
The final personal best on the day came from
Seth Barker, who finished third in the 200-meter with a time of 24.15.
UP NEXT
LeTourneau will compete in the Cowboy Relays next weekend (March 14), hosted by McNeese State.
