SUWANEE, Ga. -- For a second week in a row, the LeTourneau women's tennis team collected SCAC weekly honors as
Chloe Tesser was named the Player of the Week while she and
Kylie Weeks were tabbed as the Doubles Team of the Week, announced the league on Monday.
It is the second consecutive week that Tesser and Weeks have nabbed Doubles Team of the Week honors. Tesser also joins
Emmy Phillips as a YellowJacket to collect Player of the Week accolades this year.
A sophomore from Longview, Texas, Tesser went 2-0 at the No. 3 singles spot, while going 2-0 at the No. 1 doubles flight in two wins for the YellowJackets. She took down Gordon's Amanda Kim 6-0, 6-1 and won 6-4, 6-1 over Carroll's Mia Franke.Â
Tesser moved to 4-1 in singles in dual matches on the year.
As a tandem, Tesser and Weeks continued their hot start to the season with a pair of wins at the No. 1 flight over foes from Gordon and Carroll in Hilton Head, S.C. The tandem took down Gordon's Lucille Belval and Makalya Otey, 7-6(2) in LeTourneau's victory. They also defeated Carroll's Natasa Pupovac and Katherine Trifilio 6-4 in a YellowJacket win. The duo is 4-0 in the spring.
LeTourneau (4-1) has won four straight matches entering Monday night's contest with Lake Forest in Hilton Head, S.C.
