SUWANEE, Ga. -- For a fifth time this season LeTourneau women's golf junior
Kinley Pessel was named the SCAC Golfer of the Week, announced the league on Wednesday.
It is the second straight week Pessel earned honors and added to her program record of five weekly awards in one season.
A junior from Marshall, Texas, Pessel paced LeTourneau with a second place finish at the Goliath Compression Invitational. She finished with a 12-over, 156 (81-75) and moved up the leaderboard with her 75 on Tuesday. She had two birdies in each of the rounds and earned her sixth top-five finish of the season.
Ranked No. 37 nationally, Pessel is the top-ranked player in the SCAC and leads LeTourneau in scoring average at 75.53 across 15 rounds this season. Pessel has four tournament titles and six finishes in the top-five on the year.
LeTourneau finished second at the Goliath Compression Invitational, just four strokes behind team champion East Texas Baptist. The YellowJackets finished with a 641 (319-322).
LeTourneau returns to play at the SCAC Championships on April 19-21 at the Hawks Creek Golf Club in Westworth Village, Texas.
