ABILENE, Texas -- LeTourneau men's track and field had a successful weekend at the War Hawk Classic on Saturday.
Shortened by the weather, the War Hawk Classic was hosted by McMurry and gave teams an insightful preview of the upcoming SCAC Championships (April 24-26), with a majority of the conference attending.
The highlight of the meet belonged to LeTourneau's 4x100-meter relay team running a 41.80.
That program record time was produced by
Abdiel Rincon,
Xander Nabors,
Ryker Gorrell, and
Jean-Michel Ndiaye.
In the high jump,
Bryson Culver set a new personal best mark in his third straight meet, leaping 1.87 meters (6' 1.5").
Ben Sweatt placed fifth amongst 16 competitors in the triple jump with his mark of 13.60 meters (44' 7.5"). Sweatt also had the top mark of the seven SCAC athletes in the event.
A pair of personal bests were set on the track as well, as
Jakob Guadian ran a 4:36.40 in the 1500-meter, and Nabors worked a 15.57 time in the 110-meter hurdles.
Calvin Mason finished second out of 31 athletes in the shot put, tossing a 15.80-meter (51' 10") mark.
Two personal records were set in the circle with
Mason Thompson's discus throw (34.15 meters (112')) and
Jonathan Fisher's hammer throw (32.51 meters (106'8")).
In the javelin, LeTourneau produced three top-10 finishes.
Aaron Willeford (54.98 meters (190'4")) placed third,
Erik Lindgren (43.92 meters (144' 1")) placed seventh, and
Drew Moore (43.25 meters (141' 11")) finished eighth.
Karter Brandenburger also had a personal best in the javelin with a mark of 37.78 meters (123'11").
