SUWANEE, Ga. -- LeTourneau baseball sophomore
Jack Kale was named the SCAC Hitter of the Week and senior
Clayton Holt collected Pitcher of the Week honors, announced the conference on Monday.
It is the first time this season LeTourneau has swept the conference's weekly awards. It is the first career honor for Kale, while Holt earns his second career conference weekly award.
A sophomore from Fort Worth, Texas, Kale batted .500 (5-for-10) with three home runs, seven RBIs, seven runs scored, and an OPS of 2.067 in a sweep of Hendrix. Kale homered in all three games of the series. He went 1-for-2 with a two-run homer and two runs scored in a 6-0 win in game one. Kale was then 2-for-3 with a homer, three runs, and a walk in game two. He finished the series going 2-for-5 with a homer, four RBIs, and two runs scored.
On the year, Kale is batting .341 with five home runs, 30Â RBIs, and 38 runs scored.Â
Holt, a senior from Dobbin, Texas, made the most of his final start at Conrad-Vernon Field. The right-hander tossed a complete-game shutout in a 6-0 victory over Hendrix in the series opener. Holt struck out nine and walked just two while scattering three hits for his first career nine-inning complete-game shutout.
Over his last two starts, Holt has allowed just one run in 16.2 innings with 19 strikeouts. For the year, Holt leads the SCAC with a 3.45 ERA to go with a 5-1 record and 60 strikeouts in 62.2 innings.
LeTourneau (20-17, 17-10 SCAC) has won six straight games heading into the final weekend series at Schreiner (Friday, 12 p.m.).
