LONGVIEW, Texas -- Edwinna Sackey-Addoo has been named the full-time assistant women's basketball coach at LeTourneau.

The addition of Sackey-Addoo, along with the return of graduate assistant Mikayla McGarrity, completes the staff under first-year head coach Morgan Garrett.

"I'm beyond excited and truly grateful for the opportunity to join the LeTourneau family," Sackey-Addoo said. "From the beginning, it felt like a place where I could grow as a coach, deepen my faith, and be surrounded by people who genuinely care about each other. I'm especially thankful for Coach Garrett and Dr. Tim [Sceggel] for believing in me and giving me this incredible opportunity. I'm excited to get to work and be part of something bigger than basketball. I can't wait to see what God has in store for this next chapter."

"We are very blessed to have Edwinna on board," Garrett said. "Her love for the Lord and ministry through the game of basketball fit the LeTourneau women's basketball program. The experience she has at both the NCAA DI and DIII levels adds to our program, and she brings a lot of energy. We're so excited to see what is in store."

Sackey-Addoo comes to LeTourneau after one season as the graduate assistant coach for women's basketball at East Texas Baptist, where she worked with Garrett. She assisted in various operational roles with the Tiger program and was an assistant for the development team. 

Prior to her time in Marshall, Sackey-Addoo was the head team manager for the Bradley women's basketball team (NCAA Division I). While earning her bachelor's degree, Sackey-Addoo served the women's basketball program in several capacities, including assisting with practices and other logistics.

"I hope to bring a lot of energy, enthusiasm, and positivity every single day," added Sackey-Addoo. "I want to be a coach who players know they can count on someone who's going to challenge them, encourage them, celebrate with them, and make the gym a fun place to be. I'm passionate about building real relationships, creating a competitive environment where everyone can grow, and bringing joy to the game. I want to help create a culture where our players feel valued, confident, and inspired to be the best versions of themselves both on and off the court. Most importantly, I hope the way I coach reflects Christ's love and serves others well."

She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Bradley in 2025. Sackey-Addoo is currently pursuing her master's degree in business administration from East Texas Baptist.
