Jackets Fall to Hardin-Simmons on the Road

ABILENE - The LeTourneau YellowJacket men's soccer team returned to the field on Saturday afternoon as they took on Hardin-Simmons in ASC action. The Cowboys slowly pulled away and knocked off the YellowJackets with a 3-0 victory.

The Cowboys (7-6-1, 5-4-1 ASC) jumped out on top with two goals in the 14th and 25th minutes. LeTourneau (2-12-1, 1-8-1 ASC) looked to respond as they got five shots off in the half, but could not find any goals as they went into the break.

Hardin-Simmons put the game out of reach in the second half with a goal 40 seconds into the period. From there, the YellowJackets could not recover asthe Cowboys took the win.

Junior Eric Reyes led the way offensively with two shots while junior Josh Bishop, junior Edwin Raudales, sophomore Alex Wall, and freshman Mario Lopez all added shots.

Junior Anthony Martinez had three saves on the afternoon while freshman Joe Barker had two saves in the second half and did not allow a goal.

LeTourneau will close their season at home next weekend as they welcome in Shreiner on Friday at 6 p.m. and then again on Saturday at 6 p.m. against Texas Lutheran.
