LeTourneau Women's Soccer Loses to Howard Payne, 6-0

Box Score Despite a five-goal deficit in the first 45 minutes, the LeTourneau University women's soccer team maintained possession of the ball for most of the final 45 minutes in a 6-0 loss to Howard Payne University on Friday afternoon.

LeTourneau (1-14, 0-5 ASC) gave up a goal in the fifth minute and a stretch of four in a row during a nine-minute stint that led Howard Payne to the 5-0 halftime lead. The visitors added another in the 70th minute to raise their record to 3-11 overall and 2-5 in the ASC.

LETU goalkeeper Jamie Aguillen returned to the lineup and made six saves in the loss; plus teammates Stephanie Vana and Jamie Malinaric each had a shot. For HPU, Stephanie Boggs scored twice to lead the visitors as they had five-different goal scorers in the win.

For LeTourneau, Malinaric and Katy Wallace (pictured) were recognized in pre-game festivities as they are playing in their final home games this weekend at the LeTourneau Soccer Field. Both have provided significant work and dedication to the women's soccer program over the course of their careers.

LeTourneau will close out the home portion of its schedule on Saturday with a 4 p.m. tilt against Hardin-Simmons University at the LETU Soccer Field.
