Box Score

The LeTourneau University men's soccer lost to Concordia University, 1-0, on Friday evening in Austin.

A goal by Luke Long in the 61st minute was just enough to propel the host Tornados to the victory. Long converted on a header, following a service by Christian Frederickson on a free kick for the game-winning goal.

The two teams had opportunities throughout the contest with Concordia holding a slight advantage in shots, 14 to 11 and a 9-5 margin in shots on goal.

LeTourneau (5-11-1, 3-5 ASC) goalkeeper sophomore Patrick Barba III had a strong night between the posts with eight saves. Senior Hunter Hembrough and sophomore Israel Madrid each had a pair of shots on goal in the defeat.

Concordia (2-8-2, 2-4-1 ASC) was led by Frederickson, who had a match-high four shots on goal in the win to lead the Tornados. Answering the LeTourneau attack was goalkeeper Nick Martin, who made five saves for the shutout; plus, the defense blocked shots in the 59th and 75th minute to keep the visitors off the scoreboard.

On Saturday, the YellowJackets will travel to Belton for a 7 p.m. tilt against Mary Hardin-Baylor.
