LeTourneau (1-8) built a lead, despite only nine players, with a possession-oriented attack. The YellowJackets' freshman Stephanie Vana scored her first of two goals in the 20th minute on a 1 on 1 play that beat the Millsaps goalkeeper for the early advantage. Vana added a second goal on a breakaway, following a pass from fellow freshman Raylene Gould in the 59th minute for the 2-0 lead.

"We played a great 75 minutes today and were outstanding in so many areas," said head coach Jamie Lindvall. "There were about 15 minutes in the second half where we got a little frantic and that ultimately cost us. The good thing is that we can control the areas we lacked in today regardless of our numbers."

Millsaps (3-5) put pressure on LETU goalkeeper Jamie Aguillen throughout the match. The sophomore keeper from San Antonio rose to the challenge making four saves on 11 shots in the first 45 minutes en route to a 10 save effort for the contest.

The Majors got on the board when Dorthea Staursky spoiled the shutout bid in the 61st minute after receiving a crossing pass from Grace Gremillion. A little over nine minutes later, Gremillion equalized the contest at 2 when she scored from the right side of the box.

With the contest, tied at 2, the Majors went ahead when Taylor Winslow scored the first of her two goals on a rebound shot in the 72nd minute. They added two insurance goals in the final five minutes of the contest en route to the 5-2 win.

Next, LeTourneau will turn its sights towards the rigors of the ASC, where they will host East Texas Baptist on Thursday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. at the Joyce Family Athletic Village.
