The LeTourneau University men's tennis team picked up a 6-3 win over local rival East Texas Baptist University on Thursday afternoon on the Davis Tennis Courts in Longview.
The YellowJackets (4-7, 1-1 ASC) started the match with wins in all three doubles matches for the second time in the spring. The No. 1 doubles tandem of
Kendall Beggs and
Morgan Weaver defeated Tyler Tolopka and Jonathan Castan, 8-6, the No. 2 doubles team of
Michael McLaughlin and Ty Grove won 8-4 over Aaron Longoria and Ryan Huss and the No. 3 doubles tandem of
Sindre Bondal Johnsgaard and
Robbie Bundy won 8-1 over Laramie Linn and Connor Mason.

Johnsgaard, the three-time ASC East Division Men's Tennis Player of the Week, extended his winning streak to four with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles over Huss. Weaver won his third straight with a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 3 singles and McLaughlin bounced back from a first set loss to win at No. 4 singles by a 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-8) score over Castan.

Next, LeTourneau will travel to face Hendrix College on Thursday, Apr. 9 at 3:30 p.m. and the University of the Ozarks on Friday, Apr. 10 at 1 p.m.
