The LeTourneau University men's tennis team saw its two-match winning streak end in a 7-2 loss to host East Texas Baptist University on Saturday in Marshall.
The YellowJackets (4-13, 2-2 ASC East) began the day with a win at No. 1 doubles by the senior tandem of
Michael McLaughlin and
Morgan Weaver. The duo was victorious 8-4 over the Tigers' tandem of Cody Highsmith and Tyler Tolopka. ETBU won the next two doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead when the match shifted over to singles.
East Texas Baptist (6-8, 3-1 ASC East) secured the victory, winning five of six singles matches. The lone win for LeTourneau came at No. 6 singles when junior
Kevin Warren won 6-3, 7-5 over Reid Adams.
Next, LeTourneau – who will enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed in the ASC East Division - will advance to the 2016 ASC Men's Tennis Championships where they will face Hardin-Simmons on Thursday, April 28 at the UTD Tennis Complex in Richardson, Texas. It is the third-straight year that the YellowJackets have reached the conference tournament.
