Baseball Schedule Set for 2023

LONGVIEW, Texas -- It is only December, but spring time will be here soon enough.

The LeTourneau baseball program unveiled its 40-game schedule for the 2023 season recently as the YellowJackets are set to play 20 games at Conrad-Vernon Field.

Under first-year head coach Paul Phillips, the YellowJackets will once again have a conference-heavy schedule with the league slate of 27 games dominating the schedule.

The Phillips era begins on Feb. 10-11 with a three-game series at Millsaps in Jackson, Miss. The three games are part of five non-conference road games for LeTourneau as the YellowJackets will travel for mid-week games against Austin College (Feb. 28) and Centenary (March 28).

The home opener is set for Feb. 14 with Austin College coming to Longview. That game begins a four-game week for the YellowJackets at home as NAIA foe Dillard (La.) makes its first trip to East Texas on Feb. 17-18 for three games.

ASC play begins Feb. 24-25 in Arkansas as LeTourneau travels to face Ozarks for three games. LeTourneau also had road conference series at Concordia (March 17-18), Mary Hardin-Baylor (March 31-April 1), McMurry (April 14-15), and Hardin-Simmons (April 21-22).

LeTourneau will have Sul Ross at home for three games on March 3-4 before hosting Centenary on March 7. Those four games are part of a seven-game homestand that concludes with three games vs. Schreiner on March 10-11.

Rival East Texas Baptist comes to Longview on April 6-7 and the regular season concludes with defending ASC Tournament champion UT Dallas coming to Longview on April 28-29.

The ASC Tournament is set for May 4-6 with the top six teams qualifying.

SCHEDULE NOTES:

  • LeTourneau will face two NCAA Tournament teams from 2022 in Centenary (2x) and UT Dallas (3x).
  • Dillard is in its first year of intercollegiate baseball. The Bleu Devils are an NAIA member and part of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference.
  • LeTourneau went 15-24 overall last year and 12-18 in the ASC.
