RICHARDSON, Texas -- After a second straight individual title, LeTourneau men's golf freshman
Kaiden Schneider was named the ASC co-Golfer of the Week, announced the league on Wednesday.
The award is the second this year for Schneider, both coming after he registered tournament titles. As a team, LeTourneau has won three weekly honors this season.
A freshman from Bullard, Texas, Schneider led No. 10/11 LeTourneau to the team title at the DIII Lidlifter earlier this week in Kingwood, Texas. Schneider carded a 2-under, 70 in the final round as he posted six birdies in the round. The freshman erased a six-shot deficit in the round and tied UT Dallas' Andrew Chow for top honors.
Schneider finished the tournament with a 1-over, 145 (75-70). He and Chow were co-Golfers of the Week in the conference.
The finish was Schneider's fourth top-10 placement this season in six starts. He is tied for the team lead in scoring average with
Corbin Barton at 73.62 and leads the team with five rounds at or better than par.
LeTourneau won for the second time this season. The YellowJackets beat out No. 12/13 UT Dallas for the team title and bested four other ASC teams in the field.
LeTourneau returns to action on March 13-14 at the Pinecrest Invitational in Longview.
