Amber Van Duyn were all named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® team, announced the organization this week.
CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for each gender.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
Brisman, a junior from Denton, Texas, was second on the team in singles wins during the year and played most of the year at the No. 4 flight. She also tallied three wins at the No. 2 spot in doubles play for the YellowJackets. Majoring in mechanical engineering with a 3.86 GPA, Brisman is a two-time ASC Academic All-Conference selection and a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete.
A junior from Leander, Texas, Weems was the top-flighted player for LeTourneau all season in both singles and doubles and is a two-time All-ASC East Division honoree. She holds a 3.68 GPA in kinesiology and is a two-time ASC Academic All-Conference honoree and also earned ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades twice.
Van Duyn, a senior from Corpus Christi, Texas, rejoined the team this season and played in 13 matches. Majoring in materials joining engineering, Van Duyn has earned two ITA Scholar-Athlete honors and was ASC Academic All-Conference once.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-America® program students must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA, be a significant contributor to the team (having played in at least 50 percent of the team's games), and be at least a sophomore or enrolled at the institution for at least 12 months.
