Men's Track and Field Breaks Records in Indoor Opener

NORMAN, Okla. -- Three program records were set and multiple personal records broken as the LeTourneau men's track and field team opened the indoor season on Friday at the Owen Hewett Invitational, hosted by OU at the Mosier Indoor Track in Norman.

LeTourneau was competing against participants from all levels of the NCAA and NAIA.

All three program records came in field events. Calvin Mason, making his LeTourneau track debut, broke program records in the shot put and weight throw events. The sophomore finished seventh overall in the shot put and set a record with his throw of 15.12 meters (49'7.25). In the weight throw, Mason placed fourth overall with a program-record -- and personal record -- distance of 14.50 meters (47'7).

The shot put mark puts Mason in the top-30 nationally in the early part of the season.

In the high jump, it was Jean-Michel Ndiaye setting a program record with his clearance of 1.93 meters (6'4) to place fifth overall.

In running events, LeTourneau athletes performed well.

Walker Reeves led three YellowJackets to top-15 finishes in the mile run. Reeves was second overall with a time of 4:32.42. Grayson Gaddis set a personal record in the distance and placed sixth at 4:36.75, while Elijah Oudyn also had a personal-best time at 4:44.17 to finish 14th.

Ben Sweatt earned a career-best time in the 60-meter dash at 7.44 and Justin Lindberg set his personal record in the 200-meter at 24.55. Seth Barker came in at 7.56 in the 60-meter and 26.21 in the 200-meter.

Sam Wyatt paced the YellowJackets in the 400-meter with a time of 53.89.
