SUWANEE, Ga. -- LeTourneau men's golf junior Corbin King was named the SCAC Golfer of the Week, for the period ending on Oct. 7, announced the conference on Wednesday.

The conference weekly honor is the first of King's career. He becomes the third LeTourneau golfer -- and the second in as many weeks -- to collect SCAC weekly honors. King shared the honor this week with Dallas' Iain Griggs.

A junior from Lubbock, Texas, King led LeTourneau with his 2-under, 211 (71-69-71) at the Carla Spenkoch Invitational where he placed in a tie for third overall. The junior opened the tournament with a round of 71 with four birdies on Monday and then carded a 2-under, 69 with four more birdies in round two. In Tuesday's final round, King shot even-par, 71 with three birdies to place in a tie for third overall.

His 11 birdies in the tournament was tied for seventh-most in the field.

LeTourneau led through the first two rounds on Monday and held on to tie for the top spot with Trinity. The YellowJackets posted an 853 (282-282-289) for the tournament.

On the year, King holds a 73.33 scoring average across nine rounds. Five of his rounds have been at par or better. He has two top-10 finishes this season, and three top-five finishes in his career.

LeTourneau returns to action on Oct. 12-14 at the Golfweek October Classic in Sandestin, Fla.
