SUWANEE, Ga. --
Teigan Edwards was tabbed as the SCAC Defensive Player of the Week, announced the conference on Monday.
Edwards, the senior from Lindale, Texas, earns the first weekly honor of his career after a stellar pair of games to open the regular season for the Jackets, totaling 4.5 steals, 1.5 blocks, and 5.5 rebounds per game to go along with 14.5 points and 7.0 assists.
Edwards had two steals, two blocks, and seven rebounds with 15 points and six assists in a 92-85 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor on Thursday, and also tallied seven steals (tying a program NCAA-era record) with four rebounds and a block to go with 14 points and eight assists in a 109-86 win over Belhaven on Saturday. The YellowJackets overcame double-digit deficits in both games.
