SEGUIN, Texas -- The men's outdoor track and field team placed fifth in the SCAC Championships, with two landing podium finishes on Sunday's final slate.
Colton Fears placed third in the pole vault final, vaulting a season-best 4.54m (14' 10.75) to earn a podium finish.
Calvin Mason added his third podium finish of the meet with a third place finish in the discus throw, heaving a mark of 43.84m (143' 10).
Both earned All-Conference nods, the second All-Conference honor of each of their careers.
Two season-bests were set in the relay races for the Jackets, as
Ben Sweatt,
Sam Wyatt,
Caleb Murillo, and
Jean-Michel Ndiaye ran the 4x100 in 43.46 seconds, ninth overall in the event. In the 4x400 relay, Wyatt,
Grayson Gaddis,
Austin Jett, and Ndiaye ran a combined 3:26.85, which was eighth overall.
Ndiaye also competed in the 400m hurdles final today after qualifying in yesterday's prelims, and he ended up seventh in the race with a mark of 58.50.
Walker Reeves tallied a top-five finish in the 1500m, landing fifth with a time of 4:04.49, while Gaddis (4:14.46),
Isaac Flora (4:18.62) and
Hudson McGuire (4:20.28) also ran well in the event.
Alexander Hoksbergen (16:35.72) and
Elijah Oudyn (16:54.47) competed in the 5000m, while
Bryson Culver contributed a 29.51m (96' 10) in the discus throw.
