Farris, Black Earn All-ASC Men's Tennis Recognition

DALLAS -- LeTourneau men's tennis junior Zach Farris was named to the All-ASC second team for singles and sophomore Timothy Black was selected to the Sportsmanship Team of the Year, as the conference announced its season awards on Wednesday.

All awards are voted on by the league's head coaches.

Farris, a junior from Lucas, Texas, garners his first career All-ASC singles honor and earned all-conference recognition for a third straight year overall. The junior went 12-10 overall in singles on the year, with a 3-1 mark against ASC foes. In dual matches, Farris played all 18 matches at the No. 1 flight and tallied a 10-8 record. Farris earned ASC All-Tournament honors as he won at the top flight in both singles and doubles in a quarterfinal rin over Howard Payne.

Farris was a two-time ASC Player of the Week honoree. He won 10 matches in doubles play, including eight at the top flight with Fernando Vazquez.

Black, a sophomore from Lindale, Texas, was selected to the ASC Sportsmanship Team of the Year. He had a career-high 12 singles wins -- going 12-10 overall -- and won four times in doubles play. Black won six matches at the No. 6 flight on the year.

LeTourneau ended the year 9-11 and advanced to the ASC Tournament semifinals.
