Peyton Chaney,
Madelyn DeLosSantos,
Nat Ferdi,
Alayna Galloway,
Felice Mullinax, and
Victoria Wilson were all named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® team, announced the organization on Tuesday.
CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in their sport and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes track and cross country honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Chaney, a sophomore from Plano, Texas, collects her first career CSC Academic All-District nod. She garnered multiple personal records during the year and set a program record in the outdoor 10,000-meter event with a time of 44:23.34 at the Carl Kight Invitational. She was sixth in the 10,000-meter at the SCAC Championships.
Majoring in chemistry, Chaney is a four-time conference all-academic selection.
DeLosSantos, a senior from Pasadena, Texas, collects her second career CSC Academic All-District honor. The senior was part of the DMR team that earned USTFCCCA Indoor All-West Region honors this yea. DeLoSantos had multiple personal records in both cross country and track.
She graduated with a degree in kinesiology in May and was a six-time conference all-academic honoree.
Ferdi, a junior from Newport Beach, Calif., also collects her second straight CSC Academic All-District accolade. Ferdi had a personal record in the weight throw and finished seventh at the SCAC Championships in the discus.
Majoring in civil engineering, Ferdi is a three-time conference all-academic honoree.
Galloway, a senior from Montgomery, Texas, earns her first CSC Academic All-District honor. Galloway was part of the DMR team that earned indoor USTFCCCA All-Region honors. She was twice named a SCAC All-Sportsmanship selection this year.
Galloway graduated with her degree in mechanical engineering in May and was a five-time conference all-academic.
Mullinax, a sophomore from Columbia City, Ind., earns her first career CSC Academic All-District selection. Mullinax was also a member of the DMR team that earned indoor USTFCCCA All-Region accolades, while she set multiple personal records on the year.
Majoring in psychology, Mullinax is a four-time conference all-academic honoree.
Wilson, a senior from McKinney, Texas, earns her third career CSC Academic All-District selection. Wilson was a USTFCCCA All-Region honoree in both the pentathlon and 60-meter huddles in the indoor season. She set indoor program records in pentathlon, long jump, 60-meter hurdles, and 200-meter dash.
Majoring in kinesiology, Wilson is a four-time conference all-academic and two-time USTFCCCA All-Academic selection.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-America® program students must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA, finish in the top 50 regionally in a track event or at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, and be at least a sophomore academically.
